Senior Merchandise Planner - Liwa Trading

Key accountability of Inventory management and allocations. Work in liaison with reporting head to ensure Brand strategy is executed in line with promotional activities to achieve business goals.



Financial KPI

  • Budget & Forecasting
  • OTB Rollups per Season
  • Budget Phasing per territory; (Weekly & Daily)
  • Monthly Re-forecasting of sales & margin
  • Pricing & Margin Planning per week based on Promotions & Events (Post Mortem of the same)
  • Regular store visit to validate pricing is product appropriate and evaluate customer response
  • Competitive landscape analysis to streamline pricing structure
  • Sale Working and MD proposal in line with budgeted margins
  • Analyis and monitor margins regularly and action relevant measures to ensure mgn% is in line with business targets
  • Analyze and suggest further markdowns and/or clearance promotions
  • Analyze sales trend and inventory levels and suggest promotions accordingly
  • Set store targets for units turnover


Inventory Management

  • Receipts Planning (Budgeting; Inbound; Outbound)
  • Ensure accuracy of product tagging i.e., FP/MD & Fashion/Core
  • Ensure pre-allocations are set and regular replenishments are actioned
  • Monitor week covers and control allocations as required


MP&A (Key Accountability)

  • Plan launches and ensure pre-allocations are ready.
  • Allocations as per planned tiering and assortment planned per store
  • Monitor allocation tiering for stores vs performance; make changes as needed
  • Identify selling behavior per Festivities/Major events and ensure allocations are modified accordingly
  • Review territory & store performances and fine-tune allocations as required
  • Regular analysis of stock covers, size selling of fashion and core merchandise
  • Placement of Core buys with forecasted sales and covers.
  • Management of Core inventory and regular monitoring or core covers
  • Regular monitoring of DC stock and ensure constant stock push to stores – Fashion; Core and Sale inventory


Store KPI Management

  • Set Store KPIs to achieve budgeted sales based on current and LY trends; re-forecast KPIs with change in promotional stance
  • Analyze actualized KPIs vs forecasted


Regular monitoring of Sales per territory/stores

  • Identify opportunities in stores/categories
  • Monitor Category Performance and initiate/suggest relevant promotional changes based on inventory levels
  • Analyze & manage key events based on local events and trends
  • Analyze stock clearance vs set targets and initiate required changes in promotional stance


Reporting and Promotional Analysis

  • Preparation of Packs for Principal visits
  • Guide junior members in generating relevant weekly reporting and promotional analysis to monitor margins
  • Ensure promotions are activated timely; guide reporting team in providing itemwise list to IT
  • Monitoring and guiding/coaching of reporting team members
  • Relationship management with host brand’s planning team and seamless information sharing
