Talan Products, an ISO certified metal stamping/forming manufacturer, has an opening for self-starter with experience in the areas of purchasing, material requirements planning, and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities include:

Negotiating and purchasing firm and forecasted raw materials and services using our ERP system.

Material requirements planning, purchasing, and assisting with supplier relationship management.

Collaborating with engineering and quality regarding engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.

Coordinating the movement of materials from suppliers ensuring all supplied material is available and shipped on time to meet dock date requirements, monitor and resolve delivery and quality issues with suppliers as needed, and expedite materials when necessary.

Maintaining adequate inventory levels to avoid shortages and keeping combined inventory turns in the prescribed percentiles.

Visiting vendors and ensuring vendors meet our quality, delivery, cost, and specification requirements.

Analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and pricing.

Recommending purchasing strategies to maximize profit and efficiencies and minimize inventory.

Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating pricing.

Entering purchase order information into the ERP system.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, a bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience, strong computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office suite, Visual Manufacturing or other ERP/MRP software, excellent communication and follow-up skills, and accurate keyboard ability.
